The statuario is the cream of the crop ( the best of the lot ). The statuario has come under high demand with little supply left, hence the law of supply and demand. The Italian stone has been regarded as class above, however very close to it is the Carrara. The statuario and the Carrara are very alike, with Carrara having slightly darker background colour.
